Ryan Gander Museo Helga ed Alvear

‘Grunts, hoots, whimpers, barks and screams’ will be on view at the Helga de Alvear Museum from December 5, 2024 to April 20, 2025.

Ryan Gander (UK, 1976), considered one of the most singular and formally committed artists of our time, is the protagonist of the next temporary exhibition organized by the Helga de Alvear Museum (Cáceres, Spain).

Entitled ‘Grunts, hoots, whimpers, barks and screams’ and curated by the Museum’s director, Sandra Guimarães, it will be the first exhibition dedicated to the renowned British artist in Spain and the first major survey in Europe.

The show offers a unique opportunity to discover Gander’s singular vocabulary, bringing together for the first time more than fifty works created over the last 20 years, including iconic installations, as well as new ones produced especially for this exhibition at the Helga de Alvear Museum.

As part of the exhibition, and after the opening on December 5, during December 6 and 7 the artist will carry out the public art project ‘The Find’, placing thousands of collectible coins in different locations across the city of Cáceres and inviting us to participate in a particular “treasure hunt”.
