Visual Arts Centre Helga de Alvear Foundation of Cáceres is launched at Art 41 Basel

The international fair Art 41 Basel was where the new Visual Arts Centre Helga de Alvear Foundation was presented to the world, as part of the fair’s Art Salon programme.

The international fair Art 41 Basel was where the new Visual Arts Centre Helga de Alvear Foundation was presented to the world, as part of the fair’s Art Salon programme. Taking part in the event were the Foundation’s Vice-President, Helga de Alvear, the architect Luis M. Mansilla from the Tuñon + Mansilla architecture studio which designed the architecture, and Harald Falckenberg, President of Sammlug Falckenberg-Phoenix Kulturstiftung in Hamburg.  The launch was attended by a representative of the regional government of Extremadura, Esperanza Díaz García, Director General of Cultural Heritage of the Arts and Tourism Council. A model of the project for the Centre was shown at the launch and a PowerPoint presentation displayed pictures of the renovated La Casa Grande building, the planned new building, a selection of works of art from Helga de Alvear’s Collection and a tour of the inaugural exhibition called Margins of Silence.
