Museo Helga de Alvear celebrates its 5th Anniversary with Thomas Hirschhorn in Madrid, Lisbon and Cáceres

More than 40 hours of art, music, and encounters, beyond the museum frontiers, to celebrate five years of Helga de Alvear in Cáceres and continue honouring its founder, Helga de Alvear. As part of the program, Thomas Hirschhorn will present his first public art project in Spain and Portugal. With “POP-UP-MARILYN,” the artist will bring an original Warhol from the Helga de Alvear Collection to the Atocha (Madrid, February 24) and Gare do Oriente (Lisbon, February 26) stations, connecting Cáceres with the capitals of the Iberian Peninsula.

‘My Atlas # Our Atlas’, curated by Sandra Guimarães, traces a journey from some of Thomas Hirschhorn’s iconic early works to the present day, with three new works produced specifically for this occasion.
