The gallerist and collector Ernst Beyeler (Basel, 1921-2010) was a central figure in the international art scene of the twentieth century. Thanks to its privileged gaze to the art world, its close relations with many of the great artists of the twentieth century and its leading role in the start-up of Art Basel, the most important fair of art in the world, made of his hometown an epicenter of contemporary art.

The Passion for Art, first published in Spanish, tells the unusual story, personal and professional, of Beyeler through an interview conducted by Christophe Mory. In it, Beyeler, at full maturity, described the evolution of his career and his encounters with artists such as Picasso, Giacometti or Rothko. A conversation in which he also spoke in-depth about his own collection, which focuses on artists of the twentieth century of the relevance of Matisse, Mondrian, Klee and Dubuffet and basis of what is nowadays the Fondation Beyeler, a museum designed by Renzo Piano.
