Services

In the vestibule of the Centre there is a reception and information desk and a cloakroom that is free for all visitors. There is also a rest area and meeting point in the centre’s entrance hall. Once inside, there is a stair lift and a cargo lift for the physically disabled, seats for resting throughout the route, plans of the building on each floor next to the lift and information staff in each room to answer any queries, support visitors with any physical requirements or offer medical assistance. Furthermore, visitors will be able to access the following services:

Bookshop

The reception desk also sells catalogues and books published by the Helga de Alvear Foundation. It has the same opening hours as the centre itself.

You can also visit our online shop. Payment by bank transfer and PayPal, with shipment within Spain and abroad.

Cloakroom

The Centre has a left-luggage and cloakroom service that allows visitors to leave their coats, bags, umbrellas and other objects that, for size or security reasons, may not to be taken into the galleries, or simply for reasons of comfort.

All objects such as umbrellas, backpacks, sports or travel bags, suitcases and large handbags, as well as toys, balloons, sharp or cutting objects and, unless prior authorisation has been granted, folding seats and walking-stick seats, are to be left at the cloakroom. For security reasons, any bags or packages larger than 30 x 40 cm are not admitted. Furthermore for reasons of hygiene, foodstuffs, animals and plants are not admitted. It is recommended that you keep valuables on your person.

This free service also offers a wheelchair to anyone requiring this facility.

The Centre cannot be held responsible for any wear or damage to fragile objects inside bags or luggage stored.

Free Wi-Fi

Visitors can enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the Centre, without having to activate the service.

App

This app for IOS and Android devices helps visitors prepare for their visit and allows them to see the temporary exhibition in the centre’s galleries independently. Recommended for all visitors, whether alone or as part of a group. You can download it using this link: link or when you arrive at the Centre you can ask the reception desk for assistance in downloading it directly.

Disabled visitors

The museum is designed so that both horizontal and vertical internal circulation is accessible at all times to those with different kinds of disability and there are specially-designed lifts and bathrooms for use by these visitors. Furthermore, and thanks to the contributions of the La Caixa social fund, the centre can offer: wheelchair service, available at the cloak room; transmission device, personal induction loops and audio induction loop in the reception desk for those with hearing disability; accessible website and a complete programme of activities specifically designed for persons with functional diversity. Library

Access a collection that specializes in Spanish and international contemporary art in different formats. While the Centro de Artes Visuales is being extended, and until the library opens to the public in the planned space, this service will be available by appointment, by phoning +34 927 627253 or by email general@fundacionhelgadealvear.es, from Tuesday to Friday between 10:00 and 14:00.

Guided tours

By prior arrangement: Free.
For groups of between 10 and 25 persons.
Guided tours are available for those with disabilities. Ask us.

Friends of the Helga de Alvear Foundation

Become a Friend of the Helga de Alvear Foundation and contribute actively to our project while you enjoy the benefits of being a Friend (pre-opening visits, discounts on the centre’s publications, invitations, cultural trips, exclusive activities for association members and more). Venue hire

The Centro de Artes Visuales has created a range of services for companies and institutions: conventions, meetings, presentations and seminars that can be held in the centre’s different spaces. In this way, the centre opens itself up to another kind of collaboration with society, so that companies and professionals can enjoy a unique space in an exceptional location, offering the chance to see the collection’s magnificent works of art on private tours.
